FAWSIDE

Allendale’s community charity, Fawside, provides a local source of advice, support and direct practical help for community groups, individuals and administrative support for small local businesses.

Fawside took its name from an historic mine near Allenheads. The organisation was established by a group of local volunteers in 1991 with the main aim of tackling rural disadvantage arising from geographical isolation. Its priorities are set by local people. The organisation became a registered charity in 1994 and a limited company in 2004.

Deneholme, an Edwardian county house on the edge of the village is owned by Fawside and leased to Becks Training Development - their website is here.
